This reminds me that when we were baptized we promised to take Christ's name upon us. For a long time I don't think I really knew what that meant until I tried this experiment:
A friend gave me a little button, you know the kind you pin on your shirt, that had a picture of Christ on it. She challenged me to wear it all day, every day, for a whole week! During that week people noticed the button constantly. They knew immediately I was a follower of Christ. They would ask questions, or share their own testimonies with me. It helped me think about every action, every choice I made because people would know that a Christian was making that choice--I was representing Him!
I remember that experience often. It still helps me remember, even without the button, that I have promised to honor Christ's name, to take his name upon me, to represent Him. I don't always do a very good job of it, but I am glad for the reminder to of this promise.
That's a good way to remember! I've never heard of that, now I understand how to honor and try to represent Christ in literally EVERYTHING I do, thanks Glo!! I never understood that until now.
